Η Ελλάδα ξαναζεί το ίδιο δράμα της ατιμωρησίας. Η τότε περιφερειάρχης Αττικής, Ρένα Δούρου, μια πολιτικός που απέτυχε παταγωδώς στο καθήκον της, γλύτωσε ξανά — όχι από τύχη, αλλά από σκοτεινές πολιτικές συμφωνίες και ανταλλάγματα που κανείς πολίτης δεν γνωρίζει. Πήγε να κλάψει υποκριτικά για τα παιδιά της Παλαιστίνης, ενώ η συνείδηση του ελληνικού λαού ξέρει πως εκείνη και η κυβέρνησή της έχουν τα χέρια τους βαμμένα με το αίμα των 102 ψυχών που κάηκαν ζωντανές.
Η δικαιοσύνη, που οφείλει να είναι ίση και αμερόληπτη, έδειξε για άλλη μια φορά το πραγματικό της πρόσωπο: έστειλε στη φυλακή μόνο τους υπηρεσιακούς της Πυροσβεστικής, τους χαμηλόβαθμους δηλαδή, αφήνοντας τους μεγαλοπαράγοντες και τους πολιτικούς να γλεντούν ανέγγιχτοι. Με ποινές χάδια και αναίρεση αποφάσεων, το σύστημα προστατεύει τους ισχυρούς, ρίχνοντας το βάρος στους υπαλλήλους.
Τερζούδης, Ματθαιόπουλος, Φωστιέρης, Καπάκης — οι μόνοι που θα δουν τις φυλακές, για ποινές που δεν αντικατοπτρίζουν ούτε κατά διάνοια το μέγεθος της καταστροφής. Οι υπόλοιποι, όσοι πραγματικά ευθύνονται, συνεχίζουν να απολαμβάνουν την ασυλία τους, μια ασυλία που πλέον έχει ημερομηνία λήξης.
Το μήνυμα πρέπει να είναι ξεκάθαρο: Δεν υπάρχει άσυλο για κανέναν, πολιτικό ή κρατικό παράγοντα. Η κοινωνία απαιτεί δικαιοσύνη, όχι ψευτοφιέστες και πολιτικά παιχνίδια. Μέχρι να υπάρξει πραγματική λογοδοσία, η οργή και η απογοήτευση θα καίνε πιο δυνατά από κάθε φωτιά.

Greece relives once again the tragic drama of impunity. Former Attica Governor Rena Dourou, a politician who utterly failed in her duty, escaped punishment once more—not by chance, but through dark political deals and backroom bargains unknown to the public. She went to weep hypocritically over Palestinian children, while the Greek conscience knows full well that she and her administration have bloodied hands with the lives of the 102 souls burned alive.
Justice, which should be equal and impartial, revealed once again its true face: only the civil servants of the Fire Department were sent to prison—the low-ranking officials—while the big players and politicians continue to enjoy immunity. With lenient sentences and annulled rulings, the system protects the powerful, while burdening the employees.
Terzoudis, Matthaiopoulos, Fostieris, Kapakis—these are the only ones who will see prison walls, for sentences that barely reflect the magnitude of the disaster. The others, the true culprits, continue to bask in their immunity, an immunity that now has an expiration date.
The message must be crystal clear: There is no sanctuary for anyone, political or governmental figure. Society demands justice, not fake ceremonies and political games. Until real accountability emerges, the anger and disappointment will burn fiercer than any fire.
