Η ιστορία των μυστικών offshore λογαριασμών δεν είναι θεωρία συνωμοσίας.
Είναι documented πρακτική της διεθνούς πολιτικής ισχύος του Ψυχρού Πολέμου και μετά.
Λογαριασμοί εκτός προϋπολογισμών, εκτός ελέγχου κοινοβουλίων και εκτός θεσμικής εποπτείας,
χρησιμοποιήθηκαν για να χρηματοδοτήσουν όσα δεν μπορούσαν να εμφανιστούν σε επίσημα έγγραφα:
όπλα, πραξικοπήματα, μυστικές επιχειρήσεις, πολιτικές ανατροπές.
Το προηγούμενο τέτοιων «μαύρων ταμείων» δημιούργησε ένα παράλληλο σύστημα εξουσίας,
όπου το χρήμα δεν λογοδοτεί στη δημοκρατία αλλά στην ισχύ.
Και όσο αυτά τα μοντέλα ανακυκλώνονται σε νέες γεωγραφίες και νέες κρίσεις,
το ερώτημα παραμένει επίκαιρο:
ποιος ελέγχει το χρήμα —
και ποιος πληρώνει το τίμημα;
Η αλεπού δεν δείχνει πρόσωπα.
Δείχνει τον μηχανισμό.

The prototype was the secret Al Yamamah account at the Bank of England for BP and Shell proceeds of Saudi oil sales in the 1980s and 1990s. The account was a slush fund for corruption, bribes, terrorism finance, coups, assassinations, and black market arms dealing.
The Al Yamamah account was proposed to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher by Vice President George HW Bush as the price of US bailouts of BAE, Rolls Royce, and other British weapons companies on the brink of financial collapse. The US Congress had banned CIA black ops, coups, and assassinations, so Bush (former Director CIA and long head of black ops) proposed UK front a work around.
The account was off the budgets and balance sheets of Saudi, UK, and US, so not subject to any legislative reporting, review, or audit.
The only investigation in 2009 was closed down preemptively by Tony Blair.
Al Yamamah remains a toxic cess pit of officially facilitated evil too dark for journalist or official exploration.
