Ο Γιώργος Παπανδρέου – ή αλλιώς «Τζέφρυ» για όσους θυμούνται τις πιο σκοτεινές στιγμές της σύγχρονης ελληνικής ιστορίας – δεν βρίσκεται στη φυλακή. Δεν έχει απολογηθεί. Δεν έχει καν ζητήσει συγγνώμη. Αντιθέτως, παριστάνει ακόμα τον… βουλευτή, τον διεθνή παράγοντα, τον «στοχαστή», τη στιγμή που η χώρα του εξακολουθεί να πληρώνει τα εφιαλτικά αποτελέσματα της εσκεμμένης της διάλυσης, την οποία υπέγραψε ο ίδιος με το πρώτο Μνημόνιο.
Και σαν να μην έφτανε αυτό, τώρα έχουμε και τον αδερφό του, τον Νίκο Παπανδρέου, να παριστάνει τον Ευρωβουλευτή. Γιατί; Μα γιατί απλώς φέρει το όνομα «Παπανδρέου». Αυτό από μόνο του, φαίνεται πως αρκεί σε ένα πολιτικό σύστημα που επιμένει να ανακυκλώνει φαμίλιες, επίγονους και πολιτικούς απόγονούς με μηδενικό έργο και ακόμα μικρότερη επαφή με την κοινωνία. Όπως οι Μητσοτάκηδες, έτσι και οι Παπανδρέου: το ίδιο κουστούμι με διαφορετική γραβάτα.
Ο Νίκος Παπανδρέου, σε πρόσφατη επίθεση κατά του Νίκου Χριστοδουλάκη, φτάνει στο σημείο να μιλά για «τιτάνια προσπάθεια» του ΠΑΣΟΚ να σώσει την οικονομία. Ποια οικονομία; Αυτή που οι ίδιοι παρέδωσαν δεμένη χειροπόδαρα στους δανειστές; Μήπως εννοεί εκείνη την «τιτάνια προσπάθεια» που εκτόξευσε την ανεργία, ισοπέδωσε τα εισοδήματα και εξαφάνισε τη μεσαία τάξη;
Με ποιο ηθικό έρεισμα τολμά να εμφανίζεται ως κήνσορας, ως ηθικός φρουρός του κόμματος, ένας άνθρωπος που απλώς φέρει επώνυμο; Με ποια πολιτική διαδρομή; Με ποια κοινωνική νομιμοποίηση;
Η Ελλάδα δεν χρεοκόπησε «αιφνιδίως», λέει ο ίδιος. Και έχει δίκιο. Όντως, χρεοκόπησε σταδιακά – και μεθοδικά – από αυτούς ακριβώς που κυβέρνησαν χωρίς σχέδιο, χωρίς μέτρο και κυρίως χωρίς αίσθηση εθνικής ευθύνης. Από αυτούς που έσπερναν ψευδαισθήσεις και θέριζαν αποτυχίες.
Ο Παπανδρεϊσμός πουλήθηκε για σοσιαλισμός, και αποδείχθηκε μηχανισμός αναπαραγωγής προσωπικών καριέρων και αδιέξοδων πολιτικών. Ο Τζέφρυ δεν κυβέρνησε. Πειραματίστηκε πάνω σε έναν λαό ήδη εξαντλημένο. Και τώρα, ο αδερφός του, με ύφος διδάκτορα της ευρωπαϊκής σοσιαλδημοκρατίας, μοιράζει συμβουλές και απαιτεί παραιτήσεις.
Το ερώτημα είναι απλό: Ποιος θα ζητήσει συγγνώμη από τον ελληνικό λαό; Ποιος θα πληρώσει το τίμημα των καταστροφικών επιλογών; Και πόσοι ακόμα θα ανεχτούμε τους απογόνους του πολιτικού κατεστημένου να μας κάνουν μαθήματα ήθους και λογικής;
Ο τόπος αυτός δεν χρεοκόπησε μόνο οικονομικά. Χρεοκόπησε ηθικά, πολιτισμικά, θεσμικά. Και η οικογενειοκρατία τύπου Παπανδρέου είναι ο πυρήνας αυτής της παρακμής.
Η Ελλάδα δεν ανήκει στις δυναστείες. Ανήκει στους πολίτες της.
National Shame: The Papandreou Dynasty Still Selling Out Greece
George Papandreou – or “Jeffrey,” as many bitterly recall – is still not in prison. He has not apologized. He has not been held accountable. Instead, he continues to parade around as an MP, a global “thinker,” a supposed statesman, while the Greek people still suffer the consequences of a destruction he orchestrated.
This is the man who invented a fake bankruptcy crisis to justify Greece’s surrender to international lenders – the same man who signed the first Memorandum and shattered the social fabric of a nation. And rather than disappearing in disgrace, he now lectures the world on democracy and justice.
As if that weren’t enough, we now have his brother, Nikos Papandreou, playing the role of MEP – not because of merit, not because of ideas or service, but because he happens to carry the Papandreou name. In any other democratic country, this would be seen as an insult. In Greece, it’s politics as usual.
Just like the Mitsotakis clan, the Papandreou family treats Greece as personal property, a stage for inherited careers and dynastic posturing. Nepotism disguised as leadership.
Recently, Nikos Papandreou attacked former finance minister Nikos Christodoulakis for suggesting that there was an alternative path to the catastrophic first bailout. He defended the PASOK government’s “titanic effort” to save the economy – an economy they themselves pushed off the cliff.
What effort? The one that decimated the middle class, skyrocketed unemployment, and handed over the country’s sovereignty to the Troika?
With what moral authority does Nikos Papandreou speak? What has he ever done, besides ride the coattails of a name?
And yes, he’s right about one thing: countries don’t collapse overnight. Greece collapsed gradually – and methodically – thanks to decades of political incompetence, reckless spending, and clientelism. Thanks to people like his brother, who used the premiership to experiment with lives.
Papandreou-style socialism was never about the people. It was a tool to manufacture loyalty, harvest votes, and build dynasties. Jeffrey didn’t govern – he conducted a failed experiment on an exhausted people. And now his brother plays the wise man of the European Left, demanding resignations and preaching ethics.
Here’s the real question: Who will apologize to the Greek people? Who will pay the price for the destruction? How long will we allow political dynasties to treat this country as their private theater?
Greece hasn’t just suffered economic collapse. It has endured moral, institutional, and democratic collapse. And at the center of this decay is the Papandreou name – a symbol not of hope, but of betrayal.
This country does not belong to families. It belongs to its citizens.
