Μια μέρα η Αλεπού βρήκε τη Χελώνα να προχωράει αργά στο μονοπάτι.
«Πού πας έτσι;» τη ρώτησε γελώντας.
«Πάω να συναντήσω την Αλήθεια» απάντησε η Χελώνα.
Η Αλεπού ξεκαρδίστηκε:
«Με αυτά τα βήματα, ποτέ δεν θα φτάσεις! Εγώ θα τρέξω και θα τη συναντήσω πρώτη».
Και πράγματι, η Αλεπού έτρεξε, μα στο δρόμο μπερδεύτηκε σε ψεύτικες σκιές και δεν βρήκε τίποτα.
Η Χελώνα συνέχισε, σιγά αλλά σταθερά.
Κι όταν έφτασε στην άκρη του δάσους, η Αλήθεια την περίμενε εκεί, φωτεινή σαν ήλιος που δεν δύει.
Ηθικό δίδαγμα:
Η αλήθεια μπορεί να αργήσει να φανεί, μα ποτέ δεν χάνεται∙ πάντα περιμένει εκείνον που έχει υπομονή και σταθερό βήμα.
The Tortoise, the Fox, and the Truth
One day, the Fox saw the Tortoise slowly walking along the path.
“Where are you going so slowly?” she laughed.
“I’m going to meet the Truth,” replied the Tortoise.
The Fox burst out laughing:
“With steps like that, you’ll never make it! I’ll run and meet her first.”
So the Fox ran ahead, but along the way she got lost in false shadows and found nothing.
The Tortoise kept moving, slow but steady.
And when she reached the edge of the forest, the Truth was waiting there—bright as a sun that never sets.
Moral:
Truth may be delayed, but it is never lost; it always waits for those with patience and steady steps.
