Greek Democracy: Real or Just a Script?

The truth they hope you never vote for.

Every four years, they give us elections.
Cameras. Debates. Party slogans.
Flags waving. Polls buzzing.
They call it democracy.

But what if it’s just… a very expensive play?
Written by others.
Directed by power.
And funded by silence?

In Greece, we still vote.
But what do we really choose?

Same families — the ones who ruled in the ’80s,
the ’90s, the crises, the bailouts.
Same backroom deals.
Same headlines, recycled.

The media?
Most of it owned by contractors, bankers, and best men.
Journalists? Some try —
but others read the news like scripts from the Prime Minister’s office.

They talk about “rule of law”
while wiretapping journalists and spying on political rivals.
They praise “transparency,”
but hide contracts, erase scandals, and reward failure.

And when you speak up —
they call you dangerous.
When you ask real questions —
they say you’re attacking institutions.
But institutions without accountability
are just marble buildings with hollow echoes.

And those who try to build something new?
They’re mocked.
Blacklisted.
Or simply… disappear from the news cycle.

So let’s be honest:
Democracy isn’t what they show you.
It’s what they try to stop you from living.
