Η βία, η εγκληματικότητα και η κοινωνική αποσύνθεση είναι τα εκρηκτικά αποτελέσματα δεκαετιών λανθασμένων πολιτικών επιλογών, που εντάθηκαν επί προεδρίας Τραμπ. Αντί να θεραπεύσει τις ανισότητες, η πολιτική του διχασμού και της αποσύνθεσης θεσμών έριξε λάδι στη φωτιά, αφήνοντας πίσω της ένα τοξικό κενό κοινωνικής συνοχής. Σήμερα, το Λος Άντζελες μοιάζει με προειδοποιητικό σημάδι για το μέλλον της Αμερικής — αν συνεχίσει να κυβερνάται με φόβο και όχι με όραμα.

Los Angeles is no longer just a city; it has become the battleground of a simmering civil conflict. Violence, crime, and social breakdown are the explosive outcomes of decades of failed policies, further exacerbated under Trump’s presidency. Rather than healing deep-rooted inequalities, his politics of division and institutional erosion poured gasoline on an already raging fire, leaving behind a toxic void of social cohesion. Today, Los Angeles stands as a stark warning for America’s future — if it continues to be governed by fear rather than vision.
Υποτίθεται ότι η εκλογή Τραμπ το 2016 θα έβρισκε την Ευρώπη σε ενιαίο μέτωπο αντίστασης. Ένας πρόεδρος που ανοιχτά αμφισβήτησε το ΝΑΤΟ, προτίμησε τους διαύλους με τον Πούτιν αντί των Ευρωπαίων ηγετών και καλλιέργησε δεσμούς με την ακροδεξιά, όφειλε να αντιμετωπιστεί με σκληρότητα.
Ωστόσο, στην πράξη, η ελληνική κυβέρνηση, αν και επίσημα συμφωνούσε με τις ευρωπαϊκές επιλογές, απέφυγε κάθε ρητορική σύγκρουση με τον Τραμπ. Αυτό δεν ήταν απλή διπλωματία. Ήταν μια ένδειξη της γοητείας που ασκούσε ο τραμπισμός σε μερίδα του πολιτικού προσωπικού της Ελλάδας.
Ο τραμπισμός δεν είναι μόνο ρητορική. Είναι ένα μοντέλο διακυβέρνησης: άρνηση συναινέσεων, διοίκηση με προεδρικά διατάγματα, απαξίωση του κράτους δικαίου, περιφρόνηση προς τα δικαιώματα των μεταναστών, επίθεση στα πανεπιστήμια, περικοπές στο κοινωνικό κράτος και έλεγχος της δημόσιας σφαίρας προς όφελος ισχυρών συμφερόντων.
Όλα αυτά, αν και σε διαφορετική κλίμακα, τα βλέπουμε και στην Ελλάδα: αυταρχικές πρακτικές, απροκάλυπτη εργαλειοποίηση θεσμών, προσπάθεια απαξίωσης της Δικαιοσύνης και των δημόσιων πανεπιστημίων, σκλήρυνση στο μεταναστευτικό για εσωτερική κατανάλωση και μία ρητορική που συγκαλύπτει την αδυναμία οικονομικής ανασυγκρότησης.
Όχι, η Ελλάδα δεν χρειάζεται να εισαγάγει τον τραμπισμό.
Γιατί, απλούστατα, είναι ήδη εδώ.

It was expected that Donald Trump’s election in 2016 would find Europe united in resistance. A president who openly challenged NATO, favored direct communication with Vladimir Putin over European leaders, and fostered ties with the far right, should have faced a firm response.
Yet in practice, the Greek government, although formally aligned with European decisions, carefully avoided any harsh rhetoric against Trump. This was not mere diplomacy. It reflected a deeper fascination with Trumpism within parts of Greece’s political establishment.
Trumpism is not just a matter of style. It is a model of governance: rejection of consensus, ruling by executive orders, contempt for the rule of law, disregard for immigrant rights, attacks on universities, slashing social spending, and tightening control over the public sphere to protect the interests of the powerful few.
All of these elements, though on a different scale, are increasingly visible in Greece: authoritarian tendencies, open manipulation of institutions, attempts to undermine judicial independence and public education, a hardened stance on immigration for domestic political gain, and rhetoric designed to mask the lack of real economic reconstruction.
Greece doesn’t need to “import” Trumpism.
It is already here.
